Berwick United Football ClubBerwick United

June 2006 Spittal Rovers and Highfields United merged marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another for amateur football in Berwick. What seemed the unattainable for years, was finally achieved, the creation of one brand new club, pooling the talents and experience of the two oldest teams in the town, and giving to form Berwick United FC.

Following the changes in amateur football in the town over recent years, both clubs have struggled to get strong playing sides, and the lack of enthusiastic new younger players coming through has also hampered club efforts, the move was taken to ensure that there would still be an opportunity for football at the highest possible amateur standard available in town.

The club has two playing sides, the first in the Northern Alliance Football League Division One and the second in the North Northumberland Leagues' Division Two. The club currently holds FA Charter Standard Club Status and also became a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) which affords Charitable status for sporting clubs. Experienced backroom staff from both Spittal Rovers and Highfields ensure that the Club is run professionaly and business like.
