UKCC Level 1 Athletics Course Postponed
Active Berwick new UKCC Level 1 Athletics course which was to be held on 11th of October and 22nd of November at The Swan Centre for Leisure has been postponed by England Athletics.
The reason for the course being postponed is that England Athletics where not happy with their resource contents they where going to give to candidates on the course.
England Athletics pulled the new UKCC course because they did not want to sub standard resources. If the course had gone a head, candidates on the course would not have benefited, which would have meant the participants who were receiving the coaching would not benefit from the coach's knowledge of training for athletics because they haven't been trained up properly.
What this actually proves is how serious England Athletics are about producing highly qualified coaches to benefit all those who take part in Athletics. Active Berwick fully support England Athletics decision to do this because Active Berwick only wants to stage the course if its going to develop quality coaches.
England Athletics have told Active Berwick that they are still willing to run the course in Berwick. The dates of the course are to be finalised shortly but it will happen within the winter months. Berwick will now be one of the first places in the whole of Britain to stage the new level 1 UKCC athletics coaching course.
Active Berwick have built up a strong reputation when it comes to staging coaching courses. This is why National Governing Bodies are so willing to work with Active Berwick because they know they are going to get a quality service. The sporting community in the Berwick area has helped Active Berwick achieve this through their continued support of the coaching courses.
